Dr. Ang Kim Teng obtained her medical degree from the University of Malaya in 1977 and Masters in Public Health from the same university in 1981.
A medical doctor and public health specialist with the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia from 1977-2014. She has wide experience in hospital and health service management; health service and policy planning, development and research. She retired as the State Director of Health for Selangor in March 2008 and continued to serve as a Public Health Consultant with the Institute for Health Management, MOH till May 2014.
Dr. Ang has been actively involved in promoting mental health, and is a regular speaker on Mental Health for the Malaysian Mental Health Association. She is a member of the Mental Health Promotion Advisory Council, Ministry of Health Malaysia; Chairman of Board of Visitors (Psychiatry), Hospital Kuala Lumpur and sits in the Committee of several other Committees and Organisations.
